What if you can't post memes?

Automatic censorship, as defined in the new rules, means that we won't be able to search, share, talk or post about many things - most prominent of all - memes.

Memes are usually used in a funny / satire way to discuss political and everyday issues. They also contain images from movies. These are usually in violation of copyright and make fun of some person / incident. These are supposed to be blocked in the new IT Act.

What if you lose access to Internet?

As per the new rules, your access to Internet services could be automatically terminated if you don't comply. There is no petition / appeal process listed in the new guidelines for service providers.

What if the government knows everything you say or do?

The only way to make this happen is by breaking the encryption (green locks in the browser) and having a permanent backdoor with all Internet services. This means that the surveillance done by Google & Facebook would become legalized.

If I am doing nothing wrong, the government has no cause to watch me. Government gets to define what's wrong and keeps changing the definition. The elected representatives might do something wrong with our information.

Who watches the watchers? Absolute power corrupts, absolutely.
